  • Bat Mitzvah Celebration

    YSZ's first group Bat Mitzvah celebration for our 6th and 7th-grade talmidot was a beautiful, empowering event dedicated to honoring their special milestone. We emphasized the importance of being a Bat Melech, the daughter of Hashem, and how this status is further elevated when one becomes Bat Mitzvah. Through meaningful discussions and engaging activities, we celebrated each girl’s unique identity, talents, and potential. It was a special celebration filled with laughter, dancing, and unity, leaving the girls feeling cherished and empowered as they embark on this new chapter.

  • 3rd Grade Boys Siyum

    The 3rd-grade boys marked a significant milestone with a heartwarming siyum celebrating their completion of Parshat Toldot. Led by Rabbi Azizi, their voices soared in a captivating chazzanut medley, setting a tone of reverence and joy. With impressive proficiency, they recited the final Pesukim of Parshat Toldot, adorned with the proper Sephardic te'amim, a testament to their dedication and the emphasis placed on heritage and mesorah at YSZ. Rabbi Cohen's touching speech filled the room with inspiration, emphasizing the virtues of savlanut (patience) and zrizut (diligence in performing mitzvot), echoing the values instilled in these young learners. It was a beautiful occasion brimming with pride and unity.

  • Mother-Daughter Melava Malka

    The mother-daughter middle school Melava Malka was a delightful blend of inspiration and creativity. With the evening's theme focused on perspective, parents and students departed with a fresh outlook gained from every part of the Melava Malka. The event started with the eye-opening journey of Mrs. Kigel, really giving us the sense of appreciation to our mothers for raising us in a Torah home and sending us to a Yeshiva. It continued with a riveting performance highlighting tzedakah and how we truly give of ourselves when we give to others. Finally, it concluded with a painting that taught us we don't always grasp the full picture in Hashem's vast and beautiful world. It was an evening of inspiration and bonding. To top it all off, Chef David's delicious dairy buffet added a flavorful touch to the evening, making it a truly memorable and fulfilling event for everyone involved!

  • Spelling Bee

    YSZ buzzed with excitement at the Third Annual Spelling Bee, a hit! Finalists rocked the stage with words galore! Grades one through eight shone while classmates cheered. It showcased their UNBEElievable spelling skills with enthusiasm, positivity, and confidence. Despite stage jitters, YSZ spellers triumphed! Beyond spelling, it celebrated hard work and school spirit, fostering a friendly, supportive competition. YSZ's commitment to fun, positive learning was evident!

  • 1st-4th Grade Chanukah Performance

    The first to fourth-grade girls had an absolute blast putting on their Chanukah performance! With enthusiasm, they danced, acted, and sang their hearts out, making memories they'll treasure for years to come. Behind the scenes, Simi Sauer's choreography infused the performance with creativity and precision, while Morah Cohen's coordination ensured that every detail fell seamlessly into place. It was a morning filled with joy and celebration, thanks to their dedication and teamwork! And thank you to the parents for coming and cheering their little girls on!

  • Father- Son Pre-Chanukah Breakfast

    YSZ's Pre-Chanukah Father and Son Breakfast was a heartwarming event filled with meaningful moments. Fathers and sons began the day in prayer, bonding over shacharit. Chef David treated everyone to a delicious breakfast, which included pancakes and French toast. The guest speaker captivated the audience with an inspiring message that resonated deeply with the boys. Laughter filled the air during the surprise activity as pairs worked together to untangle themselves, with one pair achieving unexpected success! The event was further enriched by a raffle and a beautiful Chazzanut performance led by Rabbi Azizi and the choir, leaving everyone feeling uplifted and connected.

  • 5-8th Grade Challah Bake

    The much-anticipated middle school challah bake for grades 5-8 followed, with the girls diving into making challah from scratch, performing hafrashat challah, and davening wholeheartedly. Mrs. Esty Babayov shared wise words about our connection to Hashem and His unconditional love for each of us, bringing the girls closer to each other and their teachers. Everyone went home with a hafrashat challah card, a sweet reminder of the day they bonded and baked together.

  • UPK Mommy & Me Challah Bake

    The UPK classes had a blast at the mommy-and-me event. Mothers and their children got creative, painting picture frames, braiding challah dough, and adding a pop of color to challah covers. Refreshments kept everyone fueled, and the grand backdrop made for some picture-perfect moments! It was a special chance for mommies to dive into their children's education hands-on and make everlasting memories!

  • Hatchalat Gemara Gala Event

    The hall buzzed with anticipation and excitement as our 6th-grade talmidim received their first Gemaras. Rabbi Kahn eloquently spoke about his father's Torah legacy, highlighting the profound impact of Gemara study on spiritual growth. The event culminated in a joyous siyum and dancing celebration, with Rabbi Ben Mordechai and Rabbi Fridman acknowledging the students' dedication. Chef David's lavish meal added culinary delight, making it a celebration of Torah, tradition, and community, marking the start of a new chapter in the Talmidims’ Torah journey.
