Mission Statement

Yeshiva Sha'arei Zion is committed to delivering an exceptional Chinuch in Torah, Avodah, and Gemillut Chassadim, firmly rooted in the vibrant Sephardic and Bukharian tradition.

Our dedication extends to providing an outstanding General Studies curriculum that consistently meets the highest standards of excellence.

Limudei Kodesh

In the subjects of Limudei Kodesh, students learn chazzanut and the ta’anim for kriat Torah, starting in 2nd grade. The pronunciations of the words are all done according to the Sephardic havara, instilling a sense of pride in their heritage. It's crucial to us to imbue the beauty of Torah and davening in our students.

“It’s very important for an educator to guide his child according to his derech, his path, so we try to implement that in Yeshiva Sha’arei Zion.”

- Rabbi Ephraim Ben Mordechai
Menahel

General Studies

Engaging lessons that are hands-on encourage children to take ownership of their education. When they feel inspired and motivated, learning and growth become easier. We make sure to connect every skill to an activity that is exciting and fun, which helps the children retain the knowledge and desire more.

Education is a powerful tool, and once the students have that tool and they learn how to use it, they can go very far.”

- Mrs. Susanna Yakubova
Assistant Principal of Curriculum

Early Childhood

The students enjoy a range of fun activities alongside their learning, such as performing in Chanukah plays and going on trips. The girls participate in dance classes, while the boys learn chazzanut. For our 3K and UPK programs, we include a variety of weekly activities, including gym, nature, and music sessions.

“Our teaching approach is about making learning fun and interactive for our students. We incorporate hands-on activities that keep our students engaged and excited to attend school daily. With something new to explore each day, our students can't wait to learn more. We're passionate about helping our students develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime!”

- Mrs. Miriam Koyenova
Associate Director of UPK

“The school goes above and beyond for the kids, they teach them derech eretch, the love of mitzvot, the love of the Torah. Anything that you could ask for in a school, it’s here.”
